Well, it's Labor Day Weekend this weekend, which brings a lot of people's end of their Summer! Sad news
for some, but great news for others...Sad news because it means that some kids are off to college, but great news for others because their kids are back in school again! :) Our oldest daughter is going to be going to Kindergarten this year!This week's specials bring savings on Beef, Pork, and Homemade Sausages! Bacon-wrapped London Broils are Flank Steaks run through a tenderizer and wrapped in Bacon. Boston Butt Roasts are great for Pulled Pork, and Bone-in Chicken Breasts are great for grilling! The Chicken Breasts are big enough to feed you for one meal, and have enough left over to make a sandwich the next day, or make it into Chicken Salad, unless you like the way we make it better! :) Mettwurst is a sausage similar to Kielbasa. It's mainly Pork with a little bit of Beef, and it has a great smoked flavor and is great with Fried Potatoes or on a bed of Sauerkraut! Labor Day is one of the biggest grilling holidays during the year, so Brats always go great for the "last hurrah!"
My neighbor was working in his yard when he was startled by a late model car that came crashing through his hedge and ended up in his front lawn.
He rushed to help an elderly lady driver out of the car and sat her down on a lawn chair.
He said with excitement, "you appear quite elderly to be driving."
"Well, yes, I am," she replied proudly. "I'll be 97 next month, and I am now old enough that I don't even need a driver's license anymore.
"The last time I went to my doctor, he examined me and asked if I had a driver's license. I told him yes and handed it to him. He took scissors out of the drawer, cut the license into pieces, and threw them in the waste basket, saying,
'You won't need this anymore,' so I thanked him and left!"
